January 1988 Big Shot Coordinator Michael Peres and Bill DuBois present a framed print of Big Shot No 1
The RIT Big Shot began December 1987. Big Shot was proposed as a way to teach sophomores studying Biomedical Photographic Communications at RIT how to solve complicated problems with simple tools requiring teamwork. More importantly Michael Peres, Bill DuBois and Dawn Tower DuBois wanted to have fun. Big Shot relies on the generosity of so many volunteers. It is truly remarkable and a testament to its principles that it has evolved from a small departmental activity to a signature RIT event. This is in part due to good fortune but more importantly the hard and sustained work of its coordinators and Executive committee.
